I really like this guy’s style…

David Thorne, if you are out there and single, hit me up and let’s grab dinner… my treat unless TGIFridays takes cocktail napkin-drawing currency.

I can just tell…

Today is going to be a big posting day. You know how I know… this just came across my desk:
This is the greatest thing I have ever seen

I am a slouch

But after I get my shock-collar in, this problem will go away… like Pavlovian dog training, only better because it’s fashionable! Seriously, I love the chick that is wearing this thing like a Pendant:

And then there’s this…

Get out the tissues… this is one of the coolest fan tribute videos I have seen to date.

Pretty Awesome

And this is why I love Philadelphia:

This is the kind of thing that can never get old to me. It could have happened in any town, sure, but it didn’t. It happened in my town, in my home, in the place that holds my heart. What’s best, all of the joy captured in that crowd, all of the excitement of that child… I still feel it nearly 2 weeks after the Phillies won the world series. Pretty amazing.

Maker of this video, whoever you are, thank you so much for sharing.

A great recording of two of my favorite songs. I know I am being master of the obvious here, but Dylan is a genius.

It’s Jim Lyons, though… 10/21/08 – #1

I have made the very decided and dliberate choice to rerain from reading any of the coverage leadin up to the World Series. I know this is making my friends and family go bonkers, especially because it has led me to be laregely disengaged with the hype. But let’s face it, I can’t handle it… I am an absolute mess, an addict, and a nervous wreck. Thus, reading any more hypothesizing will push me over the edge.

Unless, of course, it’s written by the man who made me love sportswriting and served as a beacon…my insight for nearly as long as I can recall, until he retired a few years back. This man is Jim Lyons, and he has added a voice to the conversation. I just can’t ignore his thoughts on the Phillies-Rays matchup, so here it is. Enjoy.

Happy Monday. October 20, 2008 – #1

Phils meet the Rays on Weds, but until then, lot’s to do. This kid vid (posted by Azadeh) made me laugh and reminded me on America’s Funniest Home Videos. I am getting dumber by the day. Happy Monday.
